National Rural Livelihood Mission

National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) is a flagship programme launched by the MoRD, GoI to reach out all poor families by forming women Self Help Groups (SHGs) to eradicate poverty, link them to sustainable livelihood opportunities, nurture them till they come out of poverty and enjoy a descent quality of life.

Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), state unit of NRLM, presently working in three (3) Districts namely – Dhalai, Gomati and South Tripura District comprising of six (6) resource Blocks – Ambassa, Dumburnagar, Killa, Matabari, Jolaibari and Satchand for creation of model institutions and social capital for scaling up the mission in other Blocks and District in a phased manner.

External Community Resource Person (ECRP) from Andhra Pradesh are working in selected clusters under six resource Blocks. Initiative has been taken to recover outstanding SGSY loans provided by different banks to SHGs. Accordingly Community Based Recovery Mechanism (CBRM) has been developed and Branch Level Bank Linkage Sub Committee has been constituted in sixteen (16) selected Bank Branches of different Banks on a pilot basis to deal with SHG related issues including recovery.
